As you may or may not know, we are in process of crowning the next Miss LRKA!
This is an honorary title awarded to the young lady who collects the most money
for Hearts and Hooves in conjunction with the THV Rock'n Kickball Carnival!
I have bought a beautiful crown, scepter, broach and hair pin for the next Miss
LRKA and the competition is already heating up! This is a great way to
have some fun and raise some money for a great cause!
So far, we have three beautiful kickball fems looking to be the next Miss LRKA!

Special thanks the first Miss LRKA ever,
Hannah Chambers! Last year, she collected a pretty good chunk of change for the
charity and has enjoyed her reign. She has also done many, many things
behind the scenes to help out the LRKA. Three cheers for the reigning
queen!!!

forget, we have been selected to help host Big Downtown Thursday on May 1st,
8th, & 15th at the Pavilion in the River Market and on each of those nights one
queen will host and 25% of every beer towards their campaign! Click

level Events, to collect their money, and whoever has the most will win the

WHY SHOULD YOU BE MISS LRKA: Because I plan on
raising the most money for a wonderful organization and I’ve put a lot into this
league already!
WHAT SPECIAL SKILL WOULD YOU BRING TO THE POST? I
would do anything for anyone in the league. I have a great rapport with most
everyone in the league.
WHAT SPECIAL QUALITIES DO YOU POSSESS THAT MAKES YOU PERFECT TO REPRESENT:
I have been a member, supporter, recruiter, and
philanthropist of the LRKA since the beginning! I have put a lot of time and
effort into this league and I want to see its continued success.
HOW WOULD YOU RATE YOUR ATHLETIC AND KICKBALL ABILITIES?
I’m a very athletic person and I think I play and know the game
well. I also know how to have a good time while still playing at a competitive
level!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KICKBALL MEMORY: This is
probably the hardest question of all. There have been so many good memories
throughout the years. I’m sure it would have to come from either the kickball
trip to Virginia or to Wisconsin though.
WHAT TEAMS AND LEAGUES HAVE YOU PLAYED ON? I joined
the league in the inaugural season as a member of Team TV. There was only one
league at that time. We then became known as The Empire and I was a part of
that team for 2 seasons. I then played with Café Prego Pastanostra before
taking a 2 season hiatus. I returned in the Spring 07 as a member of the
intermediate team the Ball Buzzters. I then became a member of the CL Fall 07
Championship team DWS. I also play with Pacheco’s intermediate team NWO.

NICKNAME: Femprincess
WHY SHOULD YOU BE MISS LRKA: One always hears about "adult kickball" first
but, for me it was the charitable side that made me make the decision to join.
Even though I have been involved in the LRKA for only 2 seasons (only because I
had just moved to
Little Rock and then had knee surgery), I have been very involved,
through my teams. I have not missed one game day and even became Co-captain of
Fembots because I wanted to be more involved. I tell everyone I know about LRKA
and how much fun we have. I would continue to share the Spirit of the Big Red
Ball and continue to promote it as a family environment to be enjoyed by all.
Let's put smiles on everyone's faces!!
WHAT SPECIAL SKILL WOULD YOU BRING TO THE POST? Helping to raise the money
is certainly not an easy task. To ask, not only friends but, total strangers
for money is a humbling experience. So, humility is definitely an attribute
that I bring. If I was to receive the title, I would like to continue to
inspire others to be humble and to give. After all, it is The FIRST reason we
should be in LRKA and the kickball is just an awesome added plus!! It is
child's play with responsibility.
WHAT SPECIAL QUALITIES DO YOU POSSESS
THAT MAKES YOU PERFECT TO REPRESENT: On the kickball side, I'm a woman with
a child's spirit. I can be out-going, fun, easy to talk too, caring, and even a
bit silly. I enjoy people. On the charity side of it, I've worked with special
needs kids in the past and once received a "Volunteer of the Year" award for my
contributions. I've also been involved with
Special Olympics. It's work that is inspiring to do and so, helping to
raise money for any organization that helps special needs people is a great
honor.
HOW WOULD YOU RATE YOUR ATHLETIC AND KICKBALL ABILITIES? To even be doing
this at my age is a real blessing and plus. Most don't know my age but, let's
just say, I'm not a spring chicken! As far as athletically, I am fairly
athletic and can be competitive when need be BUT, I choose to be in the Laid
Back League for a reason…..to have FUN!!! Kickball, especially LBL, allows me
to just have fun and be creative with the weekly themes that we do.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KICKBALL MEMORY: WOW! This is a tuffy. It seems
each game brings on new and better memories because each week brings on new
friendships! BUT, to have to choose, I would have to say the mud game with
Booze on First. That game turned out to be awesome. It was muddy, muddy, muddy
but, the rain had stopped and the sun finally came out which made it all a whole
lot of fun. Not one person walked away clean! But, fun was definitely had by
all.
WHAT TEAMS AND LEAGUES HAVE YOU PLAYED ON? LBL for both Trippin' Balls
(since Fall 2007) & Fembots and NOVICE as a sub-member (and cheerleader) for
Trippin' Balls.

WHY SHOULD YOU BE MISS LRKA:
I love being an ambassador for this league. It’s great to be involved in
something that is so much fun, but that gives back to the community.
WHAT SPECIAL SKILL WOULD YOU BRING TO THE POST?
I am
always smiling out on the fields. It doesn’t matter whether we win, lose, or
tie. Kickball is about camaraderie and having fun, and I make the most of that.
WHAT SPECIAL QUALITIES DO YOU POSSESS THAT MAKES YOU PERFECT TO REPRESENT:
The target on my butt!! I’m a goofball, I don’t take myself too seriously, and I
LOVE to get muddy! Maybe those aren’t “queenly” attributes, but they sure are
kickball attributes!
HOW WOULD YOU RATE YOUR ATHLETIC AND KICKBALL ABILITIES?
I’m terrible. And that is what makes this league so special. Even if you are a
slow runner, even if you can’t catch, even if you can’t perform a flawless
cat-tackle, EVERYONE has a place in the LRKA.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KICKBALL MEMORY:
Hmm…
The Shadow Cowboys video making fun of me and Jas was pretty dang funny... Going
to the Championship our first season was awesome. But I think the winner is the
Wisconsin trip. How can you beat memories like Red Panther christening our van
with puke, 100-person flip cup, Rockit scoring the Ambassador Team’s only run,
Suds getting motor-boated by the beer guy, and Hannah getting pulled over by the
cops!
WHAT TEAMS AND LEAGUES HAVE YOU PLAYED ON?
BangBang and I concocted the
idea of the Atomic Catsicles while at a bar one rainy Saturday afternoon last
spring. We decided to join the Spring 07 season of the LBL because we are more
“showmen” than athletes. I am also “on the roster” for the Electric Cowboy
Buzzters but usually end up riding the bench.
